Description
The Buratino Geyser was located on the left bank of Geysernaya River. Its griffin, which was a crack, was located at a height of 4.5 m above the river and looked like a pile of stones covered with geyserite (Sugrobov et al., 2009). In 1970–1974, experiments with this geyser were carried out: to determine the volume of the geyser channel, a certain amount of water with a certain temperature was poured into its griffin. The name Buratino was first mentioned in the articles about these experiments (Shteinberg et al., 1978, 1984). During the experiments with the geyser in 1970–1974, its period was 9 minutes 20 seconds, the duration of the eruption was 1 minute 45 seconds. In July 1991, members of the Geyser Observation and Study Association (GOSA) worked in the Valley of Geysers and described the geyser's regime: the period of activity was from 6 up to 30 min, the duration of the eruption was less than 10 sec. The eruption began suddenly at an angle of 45 degrees to a height of 1.5–3 m, its duration was 1 min (Bryan, 1991).  In 2007, the location of the Buratino geyser was flooded, and in 2014 it was covered by a thick layer of mudflow deposits.
