Description
Glinisty (Clayey) is a dwarf geyser that, before the 2007 landslide, was located on the right bank of the Vodopadny creek, 20 m from its shore at a height of 4-5 m from the water's edge. This geyser was marked on the 1973 map and was first described in Sugrobov's working materials (1970s): "Among the grass there is a water cauldron 0.4 m in diameter located in the funnel with clay walls. In the case of water draining this spring can operate in a geyser mode with a frequency of 7 min 50 sec. During an eruption, water splashes out to a height of 10-30 cm during 10 sec. Without draining the water, the periodic geyser mode is replaced by boiling in the funnel" (Leonov, 2017). In 2007, the Vodopadny stream, including the Glinisty geyser, was covered with a multi-meter layer of mudflow deposits.
