Geyser Kotly (Boilers) is located on a terrace above the left bank of the Geysernaya River, where many other thermal manifestations are located. This geyser was first described in 1987 under the name "Pestry" (archive of the inspector of the Kronotsky Reserve V. Nikolaenko). The name Kotly was first used in the book by Sugrobov (2009). This is one of the most unusual geysers in the Valley of Geysers (Belousovs, 2024). Its systematic observations began after 2010. The Kotly funnel has a complex shape, resembles a figure eight and consists of 2 griffins: one is vertical, the other is inclined, they are connected to each other. At the resting stage, the griffins slowly fill with water, after a short outpouring, an eruption occurs: the water instantly and noisily falls into the supply system. The cycle duration is 15-90 min. The frequency depends on the weather. During strong winds and rains, the period of eruptions increases, or the geyser even stops erupting (Leonov, 2017).
