Description
Kovarny (Cunning) is a pulsating boiling spring in the central part of the Geyser Valley. In the late 1960s, this spring was named Kovarny. It is located in a stone bowl about 3 m in diameter, on the western side of which there is a rounded, mossy stone (Bryan, 1991). The water in the bowl is constantly agitated, the spring never comes to a state of complete rest. From time to time, water splashes out from under the stone, the periods between splashes can be less than a minute. Splashes usually do not exceed 1 m in height and do not pose a danger to people standing nearby. But sometimes there is a surge of greater force, and boiling water splashes out onto the platform next to the stone, which initially seems a convenient place for observation (Leonov, 2017).
