Description
Geyser Parovoy (Steaming) was located on the left bank of the warm creek Vodopadny, 35 m above its level, in the upper part of the waterfall (Leonov, 2017). The geyser channel had size 40 x 40 cm. It was first described and named by T. I. Ustinova (1955): "Two eruptions were recorded from afar in 1945 - clouds of steam rising for about 1 minute at intervals of 50 minutes. Upon examination of the geyser, it turned out that there was no stream bed running off from it, along which water could flow during an eruption, there was no geyserite around the geyser opening. Apparently, the geyser erupts only steam." In 1960, the geyser was examined in detail by Raik (1963): "We observed two eruptions of Parovoy, the cycle duration was 77 minutes. During the fountaining, the water jet with a little steam rises to a height of 1.5 m for 1-2 minutes, and afterwards the geyser only slightly steaming. Thus, it does not justify its name. It is possible that the geyser's activity was observed from afar, and the jet of water was not visible due to its low power and the high location of the geyser." In 2007, the Parovoy geyser was covered by a landslide deposits more than 50 m thick.
