Description
In 2008, the first reports came from inspectors of the Kronotsky Nature Reserve about eruptions of a new pulsating spring in the Uzon caldera. Its channel is located in loose hydrothermally altered rocks. In 2009, it began to erupt in a geyser mode (Droznin, 2009). At first it was erupted with fountains of muddy water and called Mutny (Muddy). Later, the geyser was called Shaman (Karpov, 2012). For more than 15 years, the geyser is very unstable: the period is 3 min-3.5 hours, the duration of eruptions is 20 sec - 8 minutes, the height of splashes is 1-6 m (Leonov, 2017). The geyser is weather-dependent: when it is cold, its activity ceases, and in rainy weather the eruptions become weaker.
