The Skalisty (Rocky) Geyser was located on the left bank of the Geysernaya River, between geyser Maly and the 30-meter waterfall on the Vodopadny Creek. It was a rather hard-to-reach geyser, as it was located on a steep slope at an altitude of about 10 m above the water level in the river. The slope down from the griffin was covered with geyserite. The geyser was first examined and named by T.I. Ustinova in 1951: "Its period was 50 min (of which 44 minutes was pouring), and the duration of the eruption was 2 min 25 sec" (Ustinova, 1955). However, very soon it began to work as a pulsating spring. Observations in 1960: "There was an outpouring at the geyser for 2.5 hours" (Raik, 1963). "Water continuously flows out of a hole on a steep slope, sometimes it bubbles intensely, and sprays fly up to a height of 1 m" (Vinogradov, 1962). "The geyser operates in both pulsating and intermittent modes. The duration of the cycle varies from 7 to 15 minutes" (Sugrobov et al., 2009). In 2007, the geyser was flooded, and in 2014 it was covered with a thick layer of mudflow deposits.
