Description
Geyser Svetlana existed in Uzon caldera in 1968–1976 and was located almost in the center of the Lower Platform. It was named after its discoverer Svetlana Glavatskikh, an employee of the Institute of Volcanology. The geyser's channel had a diameter of about 2 m and a depth of 30 cm. The eruption consisted of splashes following each other almost continuously to a height of 1 m. The duration of the full cycle was about 3 minutes: filling the griffin 70 sec, eruption 50 sec, and rest 50 sec. (data for September 1969). In 1976, the geyser stopped working (Leonov, 2017).
