Current State: The explosive activity of the volcano continues. Satellite data by KVERT showed: explosions sent ash up to 7 km a.s.l. on 15 and 17 January, ash plumes and clouds drifted for 172 km to the western directions of the volcano; a thermal anomaly over the volcano on 16 January. 
Danger Prognosis for Aviation: A moderate activity of the volcano continues. Ash explosions up to 10 km (32,800 ft) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft.
