The volcano form part of Avachinskaya group of volcanoes, which begins from the south the Eastern volcanic zone of Kamchatka. The stratovolcano belongs to the Somma-Vesuvius type of 20 km diameter. Height of the eastern part of the Somma is 2317 m. Acting cone is located eccentrically into the Somma and rises above the edge of the Somma at 400-1000 m. A diameter of the base of the cone is about 4 km, and a diameter of the crater is 350 m. The atrio of the Somma filled up of a glacier, going down in different directions in five tongues.
