Koryaksky volcano with a edifice diameter of 20 km is a typical stratovolcano with interbedding lava flows and pyroclastic deposits. The volcano is somewhat elongated from east to west, the central near-top part of the volcano is steep. In the western part of the volcano there is an active crater with a diameter of 180-200 m and a depth of up to 30 m, open to the south. The active fumarole areas are located in the crater and on the western slope of the volcano at an altitude of 3 km a.s.l. In the northern summit part of the volcano there is a circus with a diameter of 500 m, from which two largest glaciers descend to the foot of the volcano. Numerous cinder and lava cones are noted on the slopes and at the foot of the volcano.
