Description

The Krestovsky stratovolcano is located in a caldera-like cavity 5 km in diameter, located north of Ushkovsky volcano. At the top of the volcano there is a crater about 2 km across, in which there is an extrusive dome. The body of the volcano is complicated by a horseshoe-shaped explosive crater open to the east. Significant glacial-erosion processing of the volcano cone was not observed. The composition of the rocks of the volcano is mainly basalts. Krestovsky, like all volcanoes of the Klyuchevskaya group, arose in the time interval 40-60 thousand years ago.
