Description
The summit of the Kudryavy cone is somewhat elongated in the latitudinal direction, and two craters are located on it. A shallow, gentle eastern crater is almost completely enclosed. The western crater is occupied by an extrusive dome, and a powerful lava flow flows from it. The slopes of the Kudryavy cone are relatively weakly divided and, along with subordinate loose deposits, are covered with numerous lava flows up to 2-3 km long, which descend in all directions, reaching the walls of the Medvezhiya caldera. In the west, at the foot of the Kudryavy cone, there is a large extrusive dome, Men’shoy Brat, whose base diameter exceeds 1 km, the relative height reaches almost 200 m [Gorshkov, 1967].
For the last ~ 100 years, the volcano has been in a state of active solfatar-fumarole activity, against the background of which separate phreatic explosions localized near extrusion sometimes occur, the last of which occurred in 1999.

Potencial Hazard
Ash clouds, ash falls, pyroclastic flows, hot avalanches and lahars are a potential hazard associated with explosive eruptions of this volcano. The volcano poses a potential hazard to international and local airlines passing in the Kuriles region, since the height of its ash emissions can reach 10-15 km above sea level, ash plumes and clouds can drift hundreds of kilometers from the volcano in different directions.
