|(11) Volcanic Activity Summary:||A moderate explosive eruption of Chikurachki volcano was observing on 27-28 July, 2016. Ash plumes rose up to 4-5 km a.s.l. and extended to the north-east from the volcano in these days. Weak ashfalls was registered at Severo-Kurilsk (Paramushir Island) on 27 July. The volcano was quiet from 28 July till present. Chikurachki volcano is not monitored with seismic instruments. KVERT has satellite monitoring and receives occasional visual observations of this volcano. KVERT continues to monitor Chikurachki volcano.|
Fumarole activity of the volcano probably continues. Ongoing activity could affect low-flying aircraft.
