The Fountain is located on the main thermal slope of the Valley, which was originally called the "Geyser Ensemble" (Ustinova, 1955), but 20 years later was renamed Vitrazh (Stained Glass). The Fountain is located on a flat area with large boulders on the surface, covered with beautiful pearl geyserite, at a height of 25 m above the Geysernaya River, so it has no danger from landslides and mudflows. The geyser's channel is vertical, almost round in cross-section, with a diameter of 50 cm. At a depth of about 1 meter, the channel is sealed with a large round stone, water enters through cracks between the stone and its walls. It was first described and named by T.I. Ustinova (1955), who called this geyser as the most beautiful geyser in the Valley: "The gushing is unusually spectacular. It begins with 2-3 weak splashes; then vertical jets of water shoot vertically to a height of at least 20 m." The eruptions last a relatively long time: 3-4 minutes (Leonov, 2017).
After the events of 2014, the characteristics of Fountain's activity changed: the period increased from 15-25 minutes to 30-40 minutes, the eruption height decreased from 15-20 m to 5-7 m (Belousov, Belousova, 2017).
