The young subterminal crater of the volcano Bogdan Khmelnitsky is located in an ancient ruined cone, in the near-shore part of which is the source of the southern Chirip stream. The lava eruptions of the cone of the volcano were very plentiful, lava flows completely blocked the entire southern part of the ancient massif: in the east and in the west they reach the sea. The subterminal crater has a diameter of about 250 - 270 m with a depth of 30 - 35 m. In this crater there is a funnel of the last eruption with a diameter of about 100 m and a depth of up to 25 m. In the vicinity of this funnel slags, lapilli and bombs, as well as large blocks with a surface, were deposited type of bread crust. Lavas of the cone Bogdan Khmelnitsky belong to bipyroxene andesites.
